Duane began working out in the eighth grade, power lifting throughout high school. Then he got some bad news. Duane contracted spinal meningitis, falling into a comma for three days. Duane recovered in the hospital, but his power lifting days were over.
Following his illness, Duane found himself at 300 pounds. He had high blood pressure and was put on medication. Why? He was eating like a weight lifter, not acting like one. So he made the healthy choice to get fit.
“I enjoyed exercising and I really wanted to get healthy,” he said.
In January, Duane heard an ad for an exciting new fitness craze—TITLE Boxing Club. He tried it out and has been enjoying the Power Hour workouts since that day. To date, Duane has lost about 30 pounds and seen more definition and strength. What’s more, he is no longer on medication and his blood pressure has returned to normal.
“I have seen amazing results,” he said. “I definitely started to notice when my friends and family made comments about my weight loss.”
Duane said he really enjoys TITLE Boxing Club because of the people. Everyone is very personable and TITLE Boxing Club is different from other places.
“When I come in, people say hello, know my name and it just feels really comfortable,” he said. “Some places barely know who you are, or care. Whenever I walk into TITLE Boxing Club, I am greeted at the door with a smile.”
Duane works out three to four times a week with Blydell or Will at the Overland Park location. He is looking forward to the gym move, hoping to have more room to spread out.
“It is just a cool place to come and work out,” he said. “Improving your health is extremely important, that is the overall benefit I get at TITLE Boxing Club.”
