ALEX

Sports & Fitness has always been a part of Alex’s life and routine. It has been the best way for her to decompress and take time for herself.

She played sports growing up and eventually moved on to playing collegiate softball at Illinois State, where her love and energy for challenging her body grew by the community surrounding her; everyone was working towards a similar goal and knowing the person next to her was pushing themselves just as hard, encouraged her to keep going

. After graduating, it didn’t take her long to realize she needed more out of her fitness journey. She joined TITLE Elmhurst as a member in 2020, and it took her just one class to know it was going to be a passion of hers.

Surrounding herself with people striving towards their next goal will always encourage her to do the same. She focuses not only pushing herself physically, but also pushing herself mentally – she will do the same for you in any of her classes.

My personal mantra:
Grow through what you go through

My training style is:
authentic

My why:
"Life is demanding - boxing has made the push and pull of life easier to manage by training me mentally and physically and better realizing my inner strength"

What gives me my fighting spirit:
"Working to be the best version of me to better serve my friends, family and community."

REETA

Reeta’s fitness journey started in early 2019 but wasn’t consistent until the pandemic hit and all the gyms closed.  She did not let the closures deter her from working out, instead, she started 30 day at home fitness challenge which ultimately helped her become more consistent and fall in love with a healthy lifestyle.

Exercise makes her feel happy and she wanted others to experience the same joy, so she began studying and in April 2021 Reeta became a certified personal trainer.  She’s been helping people live healthier and happier lives ever since.

Outside of fitness I enjoy relaxing and making memories with my boyfriend, my family and my friends.

My personal mantra:
Everyday is a great day to have a great day

My training style is:
transformative

My why:
To inspire others

What gives me my fighting spirit:
Striving to be the best version of me that I can be

JENNIFER

Jennifer has been a personal trainer for 6 years, but only recently fell in love with boxing.  Her mantra is spot on: she is the storm – and watch out, she’s going to give you something to weather through in class!  Don’t be scared though – she’s also fun and energetic – you won’t know what she’s done to you until class is over.

Personal training and fitness became her passion when she changed her own diets and lifestyle and realized a new level of living a happy life.

She would love to see you in class or work with you one-on-one!

My personal mantra:
Fate whispers to the warrior "you cannot withstand the storm," the warrior whispers back "I am the storm"

My training style is:
energetic

My why:
Jennifer wants to help others achieve their goals

What gives me my fighting spirit:
Discovering love for what her body is capable of doing each and every day and sharing that joy with others

SAVANNAH

Savannah’s fitness journey started in 2012 when she had a knee injury, was 240 lbs and knew that changes were necessary to regain control in her health and wellness.  She quickly developed what one might call an obsession with fitness and came on the scene as a fitness instructor in 2013; she has been teaching a variety of group classes since – including, but not limited to HIIT, Bootcamps, several dance class and spin.  You are certain to notice a mix of technique and movement in her boxing classes!  Savannah also curates her own playlists, as she believes music to be a driving force of motivation.  Ask her about her Tough Mudder competitions – you will be shocked at how many she has competed!

She started boxing in 2017 and after realizing she could do and give more, she started actively sparring and eventually plans to fight as a Golden Glove fighter when she can.

Outside of fitness, Savannah works as in corporate talent acquisition and she enjoys eating and spending time with her husband.

My personal mantra:
Find solutions, not excuses

My training style is:
energetic

My why:
My health, my fitness and overall well being. I want to be strong and inspire people around me!

What gives me my fighting spirit:
Wanting to be my best self - I keep fighting because I've been the version of myself I don't want to be and I'll never be that person again. I owe to my friends, family and myself to always keep that fight in me.

PJ

PJ continues to grow his passion for fitness with each passing year – 10 years down, dozens to go.  He enjoys the challenge of motivating others to set goals and push themselves to achieve them.  PJ first started boxing at the age of 11 in Park District competitions in Chicago and has been in love with the sport ever since – you can expect him to talk to you like you’re in the ring with an opponent and to model his combinations off of situations a competitive boxer might experience.  He also coaches high school basketball.

My personal mantra:
Push through adversity to achieve results

My training style is:
Authentic

My why:
Sports bring people together. Boxing is the perfect sport because it provides an outlet for stress, uses the mind to learn a new skill that is never mastered, allows you to reach fitness goals through a full body workout and most importantly, is FUN!

What gives me my fighting spirit:
PJ is a new dad and his daughter motivates and inspires him every day!

ERICK

Erick is a certified personal trainer and boxing coach with over five years of group and personal training experience.  At a young age, he developed a deep passion for fitness and movement.  The disciplines of boxing, kickboxing and taekwondo played a large role in his adolescence and helped to shape who he is today.  Eventually, he realized he wanted to share his love of the sport through coaching and training others.  Erick’s classes are fast-paced, energetic and technique focused.

My personal mantra:
Live today, not tomorrow

My training style is:
Energetic

My why:
The art of boxing is that it is never finished; unleashing the potential of each individual and motivating them through continuous improvement makes me a better trainer.

What gives me my fighting spirit:
The ability to impact a person's life by helping them create and adhere to a healthier lifestyle that benefits not only them, but the entire world around them.

MARYAM

Maryam has always been fond of sports and martial arts disciplines.  She is a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo and 1st degree black belt in Hapkido, but her journey with TITLE started as a summer internship through Elmhurst College in sales to strengthen her business and people skills.  She was naturally drawn to the sport of boxing and easily adapted to teaching others.  She is also proficient in self-defense and on occasion, you can see her showing off her nunchuck skills at team outings.

Maryam is currently available for one-on-one Personal Training sessions.

My personal mantra:
No pain, no gain

My training style is:
authentic

My why:
I want everyone to experience the feelings of opportunity that fitness has offered me, as a lifestyle and a community.

What gives me my fighting spirit:
The desire and ability to transform myself into a better human every day.

ASHLEY

A Chicago native, her professional career in fitness did not begin until later in life.  She stayed active as a youth, but didn’t grow to appreciate the importance of health as a lifestyle until she spent ten years traveling full time.  What she believed were the signs of aging were actually signs of an unhealthy lifestyle, which led her to take a break from traveling.  Over the next two years, she became a full time work-study in exchange for free dance and yoga classes.  Not only did she find balance, happiness and regain her confidence, she also discovered her true passion.  Ashley has earned certifications as a personal trainer, yoga instructor, barre instructor, and stays up to date in current training techniques to provide the best support to individuals of all fitness levels.  Outside of living her best fitness life, she is continuing her education in physical therapy and loves Jurassic Park.

My personal mantra:
Progress, not perfection

My training style is:
Energetic

My why:
I want to use my own passion for health and fitness to show each person their value and encourage them to embrace their individual strength to infect all aspects of their lives with confidence and a positive attitude.

What gives me my fighting spirit:
Empowering and inspiring others

FAQ's

I’ve heard the classes are intense; do I need to be in great shape to do the workouts?

It doesn’t matter if you haven’t worked out in a while or have never boxed before, you can finish the workout feeling great! You’ll see that everyone goes at their own pace, but believe us that once you’re here, you’ll be inspired to give it your very best!

I don’t want to get hit; is this a contact workout?

No—not ever! Each person in class has their own heavy bag to workout on, plus their own space to move around the bag. Trust us, you won’t even realize anyone else is in the class because you’ll be so focused on the workout! And, rest easy, we never allow sparring or fighting at TITLE Boxing Club.

What makes TITLE different than other fitness studios?

Boxing is a great workout, perhaps one of the most challenging of all sports, and we want to bring you the intensity of the training, minus the impact. We’ll teach you how to roll with the punches by pushing you further than you thought possible.

I’m new to boxing; will someone show me the basics?

You bet! All of our classes are taught by instructors who will show you the ropes from the beginning. We’ll help you wrap your hands and walk you through the basic fundamentals. Everyone in class is at a different level, so take a deep breath and go at your own pace!

Can I bring my children with me?

We do not offer childcare services at TITLE Boxing Club. However, children over the age of eight are welcome to work out with you here and join as a member! Ask us about our Family Membership options.

What do I need to bring to class? How early do I need to arrive?

Hand wraps and gloves are essential for your protection and mandatory for class. If you have some bring 'em, If you don't, no worries. We sell all equipment at the club. Make sure to also bring a bottle of water and a towel! Plan on arriving 20-30 minutes early so we can get you settled and wrap your hands.

I’ve never hit anything before. Will I hurt myself?

For a beginner, the most important thing is to learn the proper form. The good news is that we’ll teach you! As you progress, you’ll be able to throw several variations of punches from different positions and develop your own punching technique to fit your style. People are usually surprised at how much they love hitting the heavy bag!

Can I try a class before joining?

Of course you can take classes before purchasing a membership. We have drop-in rates for single classes, three or six classes. These are great for people who travel often or want to try us out. You can choose our best value option and commit to a membership any time.

Do you have showers?

We do have a private shower for you to clean up after your workout and please bring any essentials you may need!
