Meet Your Trainers



Katrina started working out when she was young.  Her dad used to lift weights with her in their home gym, showing her proper form and keeping her active.  She loves sports and played basketball and softball in high school. Katrina weight lifts 4 days a week and does HIIT workouts (to include boxing) 2 days a week.  She is proud to be a part of the TBC Kalamazoo team not only to better herself but to help others on their fitness journey.

My personal mantra:

I want to give the best version of myself, and push myself to always be better.

Mackenzie has played basketball for almost her entire life up to this point, through her four
years at Davidson College and professionally abroad for a short time. While she has
led her fair share of fitness classes and basketball camps, she is pumped to be
stepping off the court and into the ring at TITLE Boxing Club Kalamazoo. It is
hard for Mackenzie to turn off her competitive nature, but she also wholeheartedly believes
that the biggest purpose of exercise in any degree is to feel better and HAVE
FUN, and her classes at TITLE reflect that balance. Mackenzie was raised in a gym, never
want to leave it, and believe that there’s no better feeling than battling through a
tough workout with your team; you couldn’t ask for a better one than the
members and trainers at TITLE Boxing Club Kalamazoo.

My personal mantra:
“Everyday, in every way, we get a little better”

My training style is:

My why:
I took classes at the Kalamazoo location and so enjoyed every minute. I was inspired to compete and have fun by each and every single person on staff, they have a passion for the sport, the members, and each other that is undeniable, and I wanted nothing more than to be a part of the TITLE team.

What gives me my fighting spirit:
I have a passion for inclusion and believe that everyone needs to have a place where they feel they belong, and I desire to make the gym that place.


Coach Dave

Dave is married and a father of five. He has loved sports his whole life and was a 3-sport athlete in high
school. He won a state basketball championship his senior year and played basketball on his base team
while in the Air Force. It wasn’t until later on that he developed a love for boxing, but he has thrown himself
into it with the same passion. Boxing at Title has been a life changer for him. Feel free to ask him about his
weight loss and fitness journey.

My why:
I became a trainer at Title because the club has been transformative in my life and I love being a part of other people’s fitness journeys.

What gives me my fighting spirit:
My Faith, My Family and My Friends.


Coach Renee

Renee started in competitive powerlifting when she was 15-years-old. She competed all through high school and
university. After Renee finished university, she started training Muay Thai and she immediately fell in love! She has been
training Muay Thai for more than 10 years and have trained in both Thailand and practiced Burmese boxing
in Burma. Renee has also dabbled across the board in other athletic events. Renee did a couple of summers of triathlons and she competed in a women’s physic show in 2012. Her true love and passion remains in boxing and muay thai.

My personal mantra:
When you want to quit, remember that there is someone doing the same thing you are and they are pushing through. keep pushing yourself!!

My training style is:

My why:
I have a passion for boxing as well as helping people. Title allows me to blend my two passions together.

What gives me my fighting spirit:
Life. Life is hard. My life has been an ebb and flow of goodness and tragedy. I fight daily to keep things on the good side.

Our Club Leadership

Amy brings a impressive amount of experience to TITLE Boxing Club, some of which includes aBachelor’s of Arts in Organizational Communication and Master of Arts in Sport Management,

She is also certified through ACE and AFAA. I was a grad student at WMU and has taught every style of aerobics you could ever imagine. Amy is very excited to bring Titlle Boxing to Kalamazoo and hopes to provide an alternative to a complacent workout. Title Boxing Club is a new way to “get fit, not hit, relieve stress in a healthy way and also to get in to the best shape, both mentally and physically.


I’ve heard the classes are intense; do I need to be in great shape to do the workouts?

It doesn’t matter if you haven’t worked out in a while or have never boxed before, you can finish the workout feeling great! You’ll see that everyone goes at their own pace, but believe us that once you’re here, you’ll be inspired to give it your very best!

I don’t want to get hit; is this a contact workout?

No—not ever! Each person in class has their own heavy bag to workout on, plus their own space to move around the bag. Trust us, you won’t even realize anyone else is in the class because you’ll be so focused on the workout! And, rest easy, we never allow sparring or fighting at TITLE Boxing Club.

What makes TITLE different than other fitness studios?

Boxing is a great workout, perhaps one of the most challenging of all sports, and we want to bring you the intensity of the training, minus the impact. We’ll teach you how to roll with the punches by pushing you further than you thought possible.

I’m new to boxing; will someone show me the basics?

You bet! All of our classes are taught by instructors who will show you the ropes from the beginning. We’ll help you wrap your hands and walk you through the basic fundamentals. Everyone in class is at a different level, so take a deep breath and go at your own pace!

What do I need to bring to class? How early do I need to arrive?

Hand wraps are essential for your protection and mandatory for class. You can bring your own or buy them here. We’ll have gloves for you to borrow your first time, and you might want to bring a bottle of water and towel! Plan on arriving 20 minutes early so we can get you settled and wrap your hands.
