SAVANNAH

Savannah’s fitness journey started in 2012 when she had a knee injury, was 240 lbs and knew that changes were necessary to regain control in her health and wellness.  She quickly developed what one might call an obsession with fitness and came on the scene as a fitness instructor in 2013; she has been teaching a variety of group classes since – including, but not limited to HIIT, Bootcamps, several dance class and spin.  You are certain to notice a mix of technique and movement in her boxing classes!  Savannah also curates her own playlists, as she believes music to be a driving force of motivation.  Ask her about her Tough Mudder competitions – you will be shocked at how many she has competed!

She started boxing in 2017 and after realizing she could do and give more, she started actively sparring and eventually plans to fight as a Golden Glove fighter when she can.

Outside of fitness, Savannah works as in corporate talent acquisition and she enjoys eating and spending time with her husband.

My personal mantra:

My training style is:
energetic

My why:
My health, my fitness and overall well being. I want to be strong and inspire people around me!

What gives me my fighting spirit:
Wanting to be my best self - I keep fighting because I've been the version of myself I don't want to be and I'll never be that person again. I owe to my friends, family and myself to always keep that fight in me.

PJ

PJ continues to grow his passion for fitness with each passing year – 10 years down, dozens to go.  He enjoys the challenge of motivating others to set goals and push themselves to achieve them.  PJ first started boxing at the age of 11 in Park District competitions in Chicago and has been in love with the sport ever since – you can expect him to talk to you like you’re in the ring with an opponent and to model his combinations off of situations a competitive boxer might experience.  He also coaches high school basketball.

My personal mantra:
Push through adversity to achieve results

My training style is:
Authentic

My why:
Sports bring people together. Boxing is the perfect sport because it provides an outlet for stress, uses the mind to learn a new skill that is never mastered, allows you to reach fitness goals through a full body workout and most importantly, is FUN!

What gives me my fighting spirit:
PJ is a new dad and his daughter motivates and inspires him every day!

ASHLEY

A Chicago native, her professional career in fitness did not begin until later in life.  She stayed active as a youth, but didn’t grow to appreciate the importance of health as a lifestyle until she spent ten years traveling full time.  What she believed were the signs of aging were actually signs of an unhealthy lifestyle, which led her to take a break from traveling.  Over the next two years, she became a full time work-study in exchange for free dance and yoga classes.  Not only did she find balance, happiness and regain her confidence, she also discovered her true passion.  Ashley has earned certifications as a personal trainer, yoga instructor, barre instructor, and stays up to date in current training techniques to provide the best support to individuals of all fitness levels.  Outside of living her best fitness life, she is continuing her education in physical therapy and loves Jurassic Park.

My personal mantra:
Progress, not perfection

My training style is:
Energetic

My why:
I want to use my own passion for health and fitness to show each person their value and encourage them to embrace their individual strength to infect all aspects of their lives with confidence and a positive attitude.

What gives me my fighting spirit:
Empowering and inspiring others

FEBRUARY MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: APRYL W

Tuesday February 4, 2020

Apryl came to us in September of 2019.  When she first reached out to us, she had been at a "regular" gym for 8 years and invested in personal trainers in hopes of meeting her fitness goals, but lost motivation because she wasn't provided the encouragement she needed to get excited about her sessions.  She and her husband, Luke had boxed before and when they discovered that TITLE Elmhurst was open, she reached out to meet us.  When she came to take a peek at the club, she was overwhelmed with the friendliness and genuine interest the staff had in her fitness journey.  She and her husband, Luke joined and after a few classes, Apryl decided that personal training sessions would be a great addition to boxing classes and help her achieve her goals sooner.  Coach Ashley changed Apryl's entire perspective on workouts - she looked forward to classes with...

FAQ's

I’ve heard the classes are intense; do I need to be in great shape to do the workouts?

It doesn’t matter if you haven’t worked out in a while or have never boxed before, you can finish the workout feeling great! You’ll see that everyone goes at their own pace, but believe us that once you’re here, you’ll be inspired to give it your very best!

I don’t want to get hit; is this a contact workout?

No—not ever! Each person in class has their own heavy bag to workout on, plus their own space to move around the bag. Trust us, you won’t even realize anyone else is in the class because you’ll be so focused on the workout! And, rest easy, we never allow sparring or fighting at TITLE Boxing Club.

What makes TITLE different than other fitness studios?

Boxing is a great workout, perhaps one of the most challenging of all sports, and we want to bring you the intensity of the training, minus the impact. We’ll teach you how to roll with the punches by pushing you further than you thought possible.

I’m new to boxing; will someone show me the basics?

You bet! All of our classes are taught by instructors who will show you the ropes from the beginning. We’ll help you wrap your hands and walk you through the basic fundamentals. Everyone in class is at a different level, so take a deep breath and go at your own pace!
