5 Ways to Stay on Track with Your Fitness Goals During the Holidays

The holiday season is right around the corner, which means countless family gatherings and a schedule that’s overrun with gift shopping and decorating. While there’s much to look forward to during the holidays, the next few months can be quite hectic for those who are looking to maintain healthy habits.

With so much going on, it can feel impossible to make time to hit the gym or to maintain the activities that help you feel best physically and mentally.

The good news is that the best time of year doesn’t have to be your downfall. With the help of the team at TITLE Boxing Club, you can stay focused on your goals during the holidays without feeling like you’re missing out.

Here are five ways to stay on track during the holidays:

1. Make a plan
One of the best ways to stay mindful this holiday season is to have a plan and to stick to it. From food prep to working out to self-care, it’s important to maintain your routine as much as possible.
While your schedule is likely to be interrupted by gatherings and get-togethers, this doesn’t mean that you have to lose sight of your goals. Plan and make time to do things that make you feel good, whether it’s hitting up a boxing or kickboxing class, hiking, or cooking wholesome meals in the kitchen.

2. Move your body
The holidays are a time to relax and unwind. But this doesn’t mean that you should put your fitness goals on the backburner. There are all sorts of ways to stay active this season, including:

  • Booking your boxing class at the club in advance to hold you accountable to showing up
  • Working at home with TITLE On Demand
  • Active activities with family and friends (ie. walking, ice skating, etc.)

3. Recruit support
The more people you have in the corner, the easier it is to stay true to your journey. During the holiday season and beyond, have accountability partners. These are people who will help you stay on track and encourage you to keep working towards your goals.
Invite friends and family members to take a boxing class with you at the club this holiday season. There’s nothing better than a good family sweat session! It’s also a good way to knockout some holiday stress.

4. Don’t lose sight of your goals
The season is all about being thankful and celebrating. Take some time to appreciate all that you’ve accomplished in your fitness journey so far and how it’s positively impacted your health and overall wellbeing.
It’s also important to stay steadfast on your why. Remember why you’ve committed to your lifestyle and focus on what you’re working towards.

5. Enjoy yourself!
The holidays are a time to be with loved ones and to enjoy yourself. But instead of going off the deep end and neglecting all of your goals and progress, strive for balance. Make time to make memories, but also make time to stay committed.
Don’t stress if you miss a day or two of your fitness routine. What’s most important is that you get back on track and recommit yourself! The heavy bag will be waiting for you.
