Our Title journey started a little over 3 years ago. We were talked into trying a class by one of our coworkers in May of 2018. Boxing was always something that we were interested in, and with this last bit of support we were ready to give it a go. This was one of the best decisions we could have made. These boxing besties are most notably known for their parking lot parties. It’s a rare occasion that we aren’t in class together. The trainers and members always make sure to ask where our other half is when one isn’t there. We’ve been together since day one and looking back, we’ve pushed through some challenging times and have come out so much stronger and more confident.
Nicole’s Story:
From the moment I stepped into Title Boxing Club Littleton, I knew it was where I belonged. I decided to try out a class (with Aimee McGarry) to see what all this boxing hype was about, and I’m so glad I did. All it took was that one class to get me hooked – no pun intended. I grew up figure skating since I was 7 years old, but ended up putting that part of my life on hold once I started college. I quickly discovered how difficult it was to find time to stay active and maintain a healthy lifestyle while trying to juggle a new workload, which resulted in the good old “freshman 15”, and things just got worse from there. After graduating and moving back home, I was self conscious and insecure about my body and searched for a place that I would feel comfortable at. I had explored other fitness facilities and personal trainers but nothing compared to what our Title Boxing Club offers. Title Boxing Club Littleton was the perfect escape and outlet I was looking for to relieve stress and it very quickly became my second home. It was the place I wanted to be when I was having a good day or a bad day. There’s nothing quite like being able to punch it out on the bag, no matter what you’re going through, and leaving class feeling like a new person. It’s truly amazing to not only have the trainers pushing you, but your neighbors on the bags around you cheering you on with words of encouragement when you need it most.
Aimee’s Story:
I am not going to lie, the first class we took was intimidating. Going into it I was very out of shape after years of not being active. It was something that piqued my interest however and the extra push from my coworkers convinced me to give it a try. What did I have to lose? I tried many other things in the past, but nothing stuck. Might as well give it a whirl and see how it goes. Well…it was definitely something. I was SO nervous walking into the Title Boxing Club. The trainers and staff were great however and very attentive. They helped with wrapping our hands and during class tried (semi unsuccessfully) to help us all keep up with the combinations. I couldn’t believe it, but I made it through an entire class. The accomplishment of just finishing the class felt empowering. After this, we decided to try a few other gyms around the area to compare and see what we liked and didn’t like. After a month of doing this, both Nicole and I kept thinking about how much we wanted to take another class at Title. It was by far our favorite workout and we really liked that it was a challenge. A skill to learn and focus while working out. So we did!
A few classes a month turned into 3 years and over 400 classes each! Going from barely finishing a 30 min class on day one to 4+ classes every week. I was able to lose 40 lbs so far and am currently training to do the Spartan race at Fenway in November. Who even am I right now? I never thought I would be the person who is active every day of the week and enjoys working out. Well…here I am! Stumbling my way through. The best part? Walking in the door and being greeted by friends every day. The members and trainers quickly become like family. They miss you when you are out and are genuinely rooting for you. It is an amazing community that I am proud to be a part of. Thank you to all of the amazing members and the trainers for their help along the way. Without your support I would never even have pushed myself this far. I still have a lot of work to do, but at least I can honestly say I am looking forward to it.
Keep fighting and let’s get it!
