Couple of the Month – Lauren & Mike

Meet Lauren & Mike

TITLE Boxing Club Littleton, MA is highlighting the success of Lauren and Mike this month. Lauren and Mike have shown tremendous perseverance and passion when it comes to their fitness and health. They have been members at our boxing gym for over a year now and have made great strides towards accomplishing their goals. Lauren and Mike are members who have bought into our community at TITLE Boxing Club Littleton, MA and who have used our techniques to better their lives and to boost their confidence. Here is what Lauren and Mike have to say about their time at TITLE Boxing Club:

It’s been over a year since I began my journey at TITLE Boxing Club. Growing up, I never worried about weight and was a pretty active kid. As I got into my 20s, I noticed I started to gain weight and not lose it as fast as I was gaining. I would join a gym and go, but I never had a consistent schedule. I would miss a day here and there, which then turned into weeks and then months, and I would find myself back in the same place I started – paying for a gym membership and never going. I would always tell myself I needed to make a change because what I was doing wasn’t working. I tried crazy diets that would last for short periods of time, but I never saw results. Always getting discouraged, I would give up and go back to old habits.

I decided last year that I needed to make a change but instead of focusing on a physical change, I focused on a mental change. I had read a blog online that inspired this type of change in me. I decided that I needed to stop worrying about the number I would see on the scale but most of all I needed to stop comparing myself to others. 

I went to my first TITLE Boxing class and joined officially on July 10, 2018. I was instantly hooked. I never once felt intimidated or like I didn’t belong. All of the trainers were helpful and approachable. For the first 3 months, I didn’t take any photos of myself, I didn’t step on the scale, and I didn’t change my eating habits, I only cut out all alcohol consumption. I knew in the past, these things had contributed to my failure. After 4 months, I began to see a real change in myself. October was the first time I stepped on a scale and I was down 10lbs. I was so proud but at this point it wasn’t even about the weight loss. I loved boxing and the way I felt when I was done. It was something I looked forward to, and I felt amazing. This was the “thing” I had been searching for. Now I knew I had to get Mike on board.

In February 2019, I took Mike to his first class. I knew all along he would love it just as much as I did, but I wanted him to be ready to go. He has been unstoppable since. He may even love to go more than I do! I am beyond proud of how much he has accomplished in such a short period of time, and as a couple, this is something that we now do together. Having a common interest in boxing, staying active, and creating healthy habits has been life changing for the both of us. We encourage one another to always be better and listen to each other’s feedback and suggestions. A big difference we both can agree on is the difference between now and before (being members at other gyms). Instead of trying to plan our workouts around work etc., we now plan our schedules around boxing, making this a top priority for both of us. Going doesn’t seem like a chore or waste of time like it has in the past. It is something we are both very passionate about, strive to do better in, and have made a part of our daily routine. TITLE Boxing Club has changed our lives for the better, both mentally and physically. Mike and I are both very proud to be apart of this club and look forward to the future!
