Gabi & Clara

Gabi:

In February 2021, my daughter Clara and I decided to give Title a try after a very difficult year for us. I had back surgery in 2020 and Clara went through three brain-spine surgeries in December in the length of two weeks during her favorite time of the year: Christmas. Plus, the Pandemic; a year that will never be forgotten for all of us!

We bumped into our friends Angela and Cecilia Juliano at TJMaxx and they invited us to a free class. That felt like a VERY advanced kind of activity for me. Although it felt like a challenge, the next day we stopped by Title to set up our first class. We were helped by Soto who instantly broke my wrong perception of not belonging there. We felt so welcomed that we couldn’t wait until next Saturday to be there!

After the first trial class on a Saturday morning with Zach, we were completely hooked! We signed up right away and have been showing up almost every day, and the days we can’t come are not the same. It is like a big family where we can joke, work hard, share life and goals. We went even bolder and have been doing PT with Soto for the past few months… Talk about feeling stronger and capable!

Clara:

Without Title, I don’t think I would fully recover from my hospitalization nor improve my anxiety and depression. I remember leaving the hospital after more than two weeks of complete bed rest; my body was complete jello. All the sports I did, all the exercises I completed, did not matter anymore; and all my confidence subsided. Before the complications that led to me staying in the hospital for a long period, I could do an hour workout plus conditioning without any breaks. After I gradually recovered, I attempted to do a few exercises and I felt like a true disappointment. I could barely comprehend what happened to my endurance and strength. I couldn’t even carry a two-pound object without being winded. Although this was a very low time in my life, and even lower time was coincidentally knocking on my door.

The transition to coming back to school after missing more than six weeks will forever scare me. The true pressure and pure amount of work controlled me to a point that I couldn’t focus on the true issue: my health. During the first few weeks of transitioning back to real life, my depression disbursed to every part of my existence.

Since joining Title, I felt like I gained a second family full of strength, joy, and determination that helped me realize that I am a warrior for all the hardships I faced throughout this year. Although this month will be seven months since I left the hospital, I still have a long way to full recovery not just physically but mentally; I am so glad I have the Title Fam by my side!

Our reflection:

For us, Title is not only a Gym that you come to get fit but, it became part of our lives so quickly that we just want to spread the word and have people coming here to experience all the love we have been experiencing. You guys take such good care of us! There are no words to express the true gratitude we have towards everyone at Title! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
