Kat

My love for boxing comes from my grandfather. I use to watch fights with him every weekend. Those experiences created a desire and passion for the sport which is why I started training. I’m a former dance team and cheerleading competitor. Because they wouldn’t let me play football, I decided to cheer for it. Fitness and I became best friends after I had my son. I focused on understanding the human body, the mechanics, the movements, and weighted training which led to changes in my body and finding my new love: fitness.

My personal mantra:
Without challenge, there isn't change.

My training style is:
Transforming

My why:
TITLE Westlake helped me in so many ways both mentally and physically as a member before becoming a trainer. It was always about getting stronger. However, dropping 45+ pounds was an amazing journey in itself. I couldn't have done it without the help of my trainers (now co-workers). I wanted to be apart of helping others transform their lives, to give them that fighting spirit, to be 1% better today then yesterday. I was sleeping, sleeping on myself and what I am capable of. TITLE Westlake woke me up. Now, I want to share that magic with others.

What gives me my fighting spirit:
My son Logan.

He excelled particularly at combat sports, wrestling at a Division 1 level for Ohio University and Cleveland State while studying education. Currently, he has 10 years of experience in boxing, kickboxing, and jiu jitsu experience under his belt. His love for people and knack for teaching compels him to share his vast knowledge as a coach and owner of TITLE Boxing Club Westlake.

My personal mantra:
Bushido: Life in every breath. The way of the warrior.

My training style is:
Transforming

My why:
Love for helping people and coaching.

What gives me my fighting spirit:
Self discipline. Always chasing higher levels of consciousness and a constant pursuit for knowledge.

Tobiaus

Tobias is a professional mixed martial artist, a Rising Dragon Black belt, and the 2014 NAAFS amateur champion. While he works to hone his body and craft, he is also expanding his mind, working towards an associates degree in science. He is very proud of the professional that he has blossomed into and hopes to help others along their journeys using his own successes and failures.

My personal mantra:
“It’s you versus yourself.”

My training style is:
Authentic

My why:
I love combat sports, boxing, MMA, and helping people to get closer to their goal than they were when they originally walked into the club.

What gives me my fighting spirit:
Striving for my own goals and pushing for greatness in everything I do - no matter if it’s with training myself or others.

Danny

Danny graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Engineering Technology and Management and a minor in Business Administration. He was a member of the Marching 110 drumline there at OU. However, he had been an athlete all his life. Danny grew up taking gymnastics then played baseball, basketball and football through middle school. In high school, he was a Diver and a 2-time Conference Champion (our men’s team won all 4 years). Danny also played tennis and was the Junior Varsity MVP his first year. He played Intramural soccer in college and today he’s in a softball league during the summer. Danny got into weight lifting his sophomore year of college, later getting more into physique body building the summer after as well as some CrossFit a year later. He has kept up with all fitness ever since. In college, he got the nickname “Coach” amongst his friends because no matter who was working out with him, they looked to him to lead the workout. All of this has helped Danny strive to become the best all around athlete he can be.

My personal mantra:
I’ll never start a fight but I’ll definitely finish it.

My training style is:
Connected

My why:
I grew up on the Rocky movies. I got into hitting the bag in 8th grade. I got super into fitness in college. TITLE brought fitness and boxing together for me.

What gives me my fighting spirit:
Growing up, I was always one of the little guys so my spirit comes from always being viewed as an underdog. It’s my goal to prove size does not equal strength.

Dane

Dane was a student athlete in football and graduate of Capital University right here in Columbus, Ohio. A roommate of his, professional boxer Armando Ancona, first introduced him to the classes at TITLE Boxing Club and Dane never looked back. His experiences with sports and fitness growing up developed into a love for helping others. Dane has been coaching at TITLE Boxing Club Westlake in Cleveland, Ohio since June of 2014.

My personal mantra:
Everyone Dies Not Everyone Really Lives

My training style is:
Energetic and Transforming

My why:
There is nothing more rewarding in life then helping others achieve their goals. To many people are scared to try something because of a fear of failing, so they never even try. The reality is, the faster we fail, the faster we will succeed.

What gives me my fighting spirit:
Changing Lives. Anything you set your mind to, you can accomplish. The mind is way more powerful than most people realize. A life changing experience helped me understand the power of the mind, so I've made it my goal to help others understand it too.

Meet Jessica Sayre

Wednesday April 3, 2019

Here at TITLE, we believe that our members do not only come to our boxing classes in Westlake because we are a boxing gym located near them, but because they buy into our philosophy and our culture. We use a boxer’s workout to enhance the body and to change our member’s mentality when it comes to fitness. Our goal is to help you challenge yourself by hitting the bag and fighting through your personal challenges. We encourage this by providing our members with a full-body workout that incorporates different techniques, such as HIIT, cardio, boxing, kickboxing, MMA, core, and strength. The trainers even go a step further to offer one on one private training sessions. During these sessions, our experienced trainers will not intimidate, but inspire you to become the champion of your life. They will drive your body to limits that help accelerate results. FAQ's

I’ve heard the classes are intense; do I need to be in great shape to do the workouts?

It doesn’t matter if you haven’t worked out in a while or have never boxed before, you can finish the workout feeling great! You’ll see that everyone goes at their own pace, but believe us that once you’re here, you’ll be inspired to give it your very best!

I don’t want to get hit; is this a contact workout?

No—not ever! Each person in class has their own heavy bag to workout on, plus their own space to move around the bag. Trust us, you won’t even realize anyone else is in the class because you’ll be so focused on the workout! And, rest easy, we never allow sparring or fighting at TITLE Boxing Club.

What makes TITLE different than other fitness studios?

Boxing is a great workout, perhaps one of the most challenging of all sports, and we want to bring you the intensity of the training, minus the impact. We’ll teach you how to roll with the punches by pushing you further than you thought possible.

I’m new to boxing; will someone show me the basics?

You bet! All of our classes are taught by instructors who will show you the ropes from the beginning. We’ll help you wrap your hands and walk you through the basic fundamentals. Everyone in class is at a different level, so take a deep breath and go at your own pace!

Can I bring my children with me?

We do not offer childcare services at TITLE Boxing Club. However, children over the age of eight are welcome to work out with you here and join as a member! Ask us about our Family Membership options.

What do I need to bring to class? How early do I need to arrive?

Hand wraps are essential for your protection and mandatory for class. You can bring your own or buy them here. We’ll have gloves for you to borrow your first time, and you might want to bring a bottle of water and towel! Plan on arriving 20 minutes early so we can get you settled and wrap your hands.

I’ve never hit anything before. Will I hurt myself?

For a beginner, the most important thing is to learn the proper form. The good news is that we’ll teach you! As you progress, you’ll be able to throw several variations of punches from different positions and develop your own punching technique to fit your style. People are usually surprised at how much they love hitting the heavy bag!
