Beth’s Exceeding Her Expectations

Prior to joining TITLE Boxing Club, I made a commitment to myself to lose weight, be active and feel confident again. January 4, 2016 was the first day of my weight loss journey. Prior to this day, I was eating whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. I got zero exercise. Needless to say, I felt terrible about my body and how I looked.
In addition to adopting an active lifestyle, I decided to join Weight Watchers to help control my eating habits. To become more active, I started by going to gym an hour every other night – cycling, walking, and stair stepping. I was seeing results – pounds were coming off and I started to feel good again. In April of 2016, a friend introduced me to try a barre workout which I continued to do for 3 months. In May 2016 – a friend invited me to my first TITLE Boxing Club class – Ainsley was the instructor and she WHOOPED MY BUTT! That’s when I realized, I was more out of shape than I thought. But as I mentioned before, I continued to go to barre and thought maybe I’d try TITLE later on in the year once my barre passes were over. In August of 2016, I finally decided to go back to TITLE and have gone at least 3-4 times/week. My goals when I joined included losing weight, gaining muscle tone and learning how to do a proper burpee.
The first time I visited TITLE, I was so nervous and I didn’t know what to expect. As I mentioned, Ainsley was instructing and it was club night (a special night once a month with a DJ). It was packed! But Ainsley spent the time showing me the punches and giving me the encouragement to do what I can. On top of that, the staff was very friendly and welcoming.
I have lost about 35 pounds since starting at TITLE. And I have gone down 3 pant sizes – loving this! I am also able to do a full body push-up, scissor kicks (I could never master these in previous workouts), minute planks, burpees and the list goes on. I have muscle tone in my arms for a change and my legs are super firm – all things I never thought I could achieve. I just love how effective it is! You get a great full-body workout in just one hour.
What I like most about TITLE is the classes are high energy and fun. It feels so good to let everything go by hitting the bag. I love Club Night! I wish they would do it more often. And there are a ton of classes to go to, almost always one that works great with my schedule.
The old me wouldn’t care, but now I honestly miss going to TITLE when I get super busy with work or have to go out of town. I make almost every effort to go to class whenever I can. I don’t feel right missing my workouts and that is new for me.
I still have a little more weight to lose to be at my goal weight, but I am down 53 pounds since January 4, 2016 and TITLE has helped me lose 35 of those 53 pounds. The old me never would of worked out that many times in one week, especially for almost 6 consecutive months. I never thought I’d love a workout as much as I do boxing.
If I could give any advice, don’t worry. Everyone is a little nervous the first time. Keep an open mind and just do what you can. The staff and trainers will help you feel comfortable and there is never any pressure. For people just getting into it, make fitness a priority. You don’t find time, you make time to workout!
