After a Boxing 60 or Kickboxing 45, your workout gear has been put to the test burning up to 1,000 calories! There’s nothing worse – or more embarrassing – than having smelly workout clothes. Has this happened to you before you even started your workout? Chances are, you aren’t washing your workout gear correctly.

TITLE Boxing Club Overland Park 148th
Your workout gear isn’t like all your other clothes. It’s different material and you put it to the test every time you step into the club for the best hour of your day. If you want the cleanest workout clothes in class, we’ve got you covered.
- Step one: turn your clothes inside out before washing them. All the sweat, dead skin cells and gross stuff builds up on the inside of your clothes. You want the detergent to hit that side of the clothes first.
- Wash your clothes in cold water. You can wash most of your clothing in cold with washing machines now, but this is especially important with workout clothes. Hot water can break down the material or cause it to lose its form faster.
- Don’t overload the detergent. It can be tempting to add an extra helping of detergent after a hard Boxing 60 class, but more detergent does not equal cleaner clothes. Too much detergent can cause build up on your clothes which can be bad for your skin.
- Add vinegar. You’re probably asking yourself, “Why on earth would I add something that smells like vinegar to make my clothes cleaner and smell fresher?” Vinegar isn’t the flower field scent we’re going for, but it will deep clean your clothes better than anything! You can pre-soak your clothes or add a half-cup of white vinegar to your load to break down all the dirt and grime from your sweat sesh. We promise your clothes won’t smell like vinegar, but they’ll be so clean they might just sparkle.
