Fear is a good thing, I was scared to take my first class, but I really don’t know where I would be if I hadn’t overcome my fear and walked into TITLE that day.
A big reason people join TITLE is to improve their physical health, maybe to lose some weight or to tone. The cosmetic benefits are apparent, and because we can see those results, we highlight them often. Yes, the physical transformations of our members are insanely inspiring, but it’s the positive changes in mental health and overall life quality that we feel doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. If you give TITLE a chance, it can change your life in far more areas than just your physique.
Jillian, a courageous member based out of Seattle will candidly tell you, “TITLE saved my life”. She’s been on an incredible journey to health and self-love over the past five years and claims TITLE has played a monumental role in her success. At the beginning of her journey, Jillian found herself at an extreme low point battling anxiety and depression, and struggling with body image. Thankfully, fate led her to TITLE Boxing Club Greenwood where she found a community of support and a love for boxing, “I really found a passion for boxing and kickboxing, and when you find something you’re passionate about, it’s easy to stay consistent”.
In the last few years, Jillian has lost a whopping 100 pounds and has seen an overall improvement in her confidence, mindset, and even performance in her job. “It helped me in my dating life too, I started dating again!”, she excitedly proclaimed. The changes in her life have been astronomical, and though it was truly the dedication and hard work Jillian put in, TITLE was happy to be there with her every step of the way.
Research shows that our members initially sign up because they’re looking for a new form of exercise, however, the number one reason why they keep coming back is stress relief. There’s something so unbelievably exhilarating about slamming your fists into the bag and forgetting, even for just one hour, about the rest of your life. Jillian even claims, “boxing is my meditation”.
Trying something new, like boxing, can be scary but in the words of Jillian, “Fear is a good thing, I was scared to take my first class, but I really don’t know where I would be if I hadn’t overcome my fear and walked into TITLE that day”. Life can and will knock you down, and TITLE will be there when it does, extending a glove covered hand in your direction to pull you up and get you moving forward toward healing and happiness.
I’ve come a long way with my mental health and I owe that to TITLE.
