This is not a gym. It’s a family.
Okay, let’s start by getting a few things straight. I like stuffed crust pizza. I like Newcastle Brown Ale. I’m a lot closer to 50 than I am to 40. I’m a single parent. I work a non-stop job, and that includes a lot of nights and weekends.
So why have I lost 45 lbs this year?
One reason stands tall. In February of 2015, I was the keynote speaker at a neighborhood gathering. The local newspaper reported on it, and of course they sent a photographer. I read the article and thought, “hmmm, good coverage. But who is the fat guy in the picture?”
You guessed it, me. Fortunately, I had met Lisa from TITLE Boxing Club a few months earlier and she finally persuaded me to try “First Shot Free.” I huffed, I puffed, and I cursed the trainer under my breath. But I didn’t quit. And I went back. I made it a priority to go back. My kid understood and encouraged me to go get my fitness on! It was only three or four hours a week.
Eventually I noticed a few things about TITLE Boxing Club. First of all, the trainers all care about your goals. They will take time from the class to suggest improvements and keep you on the right path. Second, the members care about your goals. We encourage each other, motivate each other and make it a comfortable, respectful environment. That’s not to say members and trainers don’t have fun at the same time. This is not a gym, it’s a family. People notice when I haven’t been there for a few days (mostly because I went to class at a different time).
Third, the weight sluices off! When they claim you burn 1,000 calories in an hour, they mean it. At least according to my FitBit. The workouts are intense, but fun. You will walk out of TITLE Boxing Club looking like you just stepped out of a swimming pool. But it’s cool, we all look that way.
Last February, I was a 40 waist looking at size 42. Now I’m a size 36 eyeing 34. Not bad for a pizza eating, beer drinking, working too much middle-aged single father. So what’s your excuse? Check into TITLE Boxing Club.
