The Best VS The Worst of Thanksgiving 2016

According to the Calorie Control Council, during the state-sanctioned gorging event known as Thanksgiving, the average American can stuff down as much as 4,500 calories—nearly twice the recommended daily allowance. Say, what!?

The good news is there are ways to avoid eating to excess, and get right back on track.

  • Start your day with a workout (our Turkey Day morning classes are the busiest all year!)
  • Eat to your heart’s desire (see substitutions below)
  • After the meal start a new tradition (think: family walk, then nap)
  • Get back on track the next day (walk your socks off while Black Friday shopping)

When the dinner bell rings first start by focusing on your entrée. Pick your protein from the turkey, ham or deviled eggs and make it the largest portion on your plate. Root vegetables are all the rage right now, greens or fruits, and if you go for the pie, skip the ice cream topper.

Use this guide as your go-to for selecting the good, bad and ugly!
