MAKING THE REST OF 2020 A WIN

What a gift to look at the setback of the temporary COVID club shutdowns as our greatest opportunity to rise, to prepare for victory and to champion the lives of people everywhere.

They say boxing is as much a mental game as it is a physical one. Anyone who has ever stepped in the ring, done mitts or pushed through that last round can surely attest to this. During the COVID shutdowns, we’ve been hard at work developing new ways to offer our classes that are both safe and conscious of the current consumer climate. As a franchise brand, we have cheered our hundreds of local business owners that went above and beyond by hosting zoom classes for members, live social media classes, outdoor classes and even meeting up for personal training in a nearby park. And, with our TITLE On-Demand workout app, you can experience our classes anytime, anywhere.

There are so many elements to draw from the sport of boxing and apply it to our daily lives. For instance, sweet science, the nickname for the sport of boxing, is used to describe the more artful, fluid and technical version of the sport as opposed to mindless aggression or poor tactics. For us, we believe we could all use a little more “sweet science” in our lives right now—an artful, fluid way of living and being. There is great pain and suffering in the world from COVID-19, suicide, depression, anxiety, cancer, disease, school shutdowns, and the tragic deaths of Black lives.

If you look back at the history of boxing, some of the greatest boxers of all time faced not only their opponents in the ring but also themselves. The inner struggle of a fighter is a common theme in the sport of boxing and it’s incredibly relevant to what we face today. As we are months into a worldwide pandemic, people everywhere are forced to learn how to fight. Fight for their health, their family, their jobs, their businesses, their sexual orientation and their race. Boxing is one of the only sports in the world that forces an individual to look deep inside of themselves and discover who they really are. Between the confines of our heavy bags and within the walls of every TITLE Boxing Club location, people get to discover what they are capable of achieving.

As we begin to reopen now the second half of our locations, it’s ever important to stop and reflect on the year thus far. What a gift to look at the setback of the temporary COVID club shutdowns as our greatest opportunity to rise, to prepare for victory and to champion the lives of people everywhere. The final six months of the year will be our very best. We’re certain of it. And, we can’t wait to watch you win!

We’ll see you in the club!
