We are an inclusive brand that welcomes everyone into our clubs – no matter the color of your skin, religion, and body type.
Over the last several weeks, TITLE Boxing Club has been listening, learning, and growing. We know we have opportunities to be better. To our communities of Color, we are listening. We are committed to learning how we can be better allies and taking steps to grow as a more diverse brand.
During this time of reflection, members have reached out via social media and email, asking us where we stand on the Black Lives Matter movement.
First, we are grateful that you care enough to ask. Rather than craft a “social media-friendly” brief statement, we believe a high degree of transparency in outlining TITLE’s current actions on what will be an ongoing journey for us collectively.
To be clear, TITLE and our franchisees are champions for change and will fight against systemic racism. We are an inclusive brand that welcomes everyone into our clubs – no matter the color of your skin, religion, and body type. At the same time, we see the opportunity to be even better and will support the cause by putting actions behind our words.
To that end, management is taking aggressive steps to meet the call to action:
- We have formed a Diversity Committee made up of six men and women of diverse races whose function is to create diversity initiatives at the corporate and franchisee levels. The committee will be led by Anne Wilkins, our Senior Director of Learning and Development. Thus far the committee has met twice and will continue to meet regularly for accountability on actions to bring about positive change.
- We are in the process of coordinating a multi-session diversity and inclusion training seminar to be led by a well-respected HR and diversity trainer. The sessions will be mandatory for all staff at our headquarters in Kansas City and will include discussions on empathy, listening, white privilege, micro-aggressions, and more.
-
We are having honest conversations with our members through our social media channels that message us with questions and concerns on the matter. Additionally, we are communicating with our franchisees on how to be champions for change at a local level.
Because we are committed to change and want to hold ourselves accountable, we will be sharing our journey with you. Stay tuned for ongoing blog updates to be posted on social media regarding our diversity and inclusion initiatives.
