I am 32 years old born in Manhattan, New York and I was mostly raised in Orlando, Florida. I started training and competed Tai Kwon Do for 6 years at a young age all while doing other sports like basketball, baseball, soccer, and boxing. In high school I weighed 210 pounds, while playing football for three years, and lost 50 lbs while transitioning into wrestling for two years. Since I have lost weight, I was bench pressing over 300 lbs and squatted over 500 lbs, because I was a 5’7 170 pound offensive lineman with quick feet. Once I have graduated high school, I was going through difficult health and mental issues with Crohn’s Disease for 5 long years, all throughout trying to figure out what was wrong with my body. Since then, I have build my own strength throughout my tough long years, by accepting my disease and changing my own thoughts. I have started training MMA for my physical and mental health, in addition I have started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing, MuayTai, Boxing, and Aikido. Now I am undefeated in MMA, and 2017 Florida State Champion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, while managing my Crohn’s Disease.
My personal mantra: Success Loves Preparation
My training style is: Fun, Energetic, and Technical with the exercises to avoid injuries.
My why: I want to help, build, and encourage others to improve their own mental and physical health, as well as find there own strength that is beyond their own limited beliefs.
What gives me my fighting spirit: Managing my own health with Crohn's Disease is an everyday lifestyle. We must fight for our own health, because without it, we cannot enjoy nor value the most important things in our own life.
Growing up in the Boston area, Matt was an athlete his whole life. This translated perfectly into the world of fitness because of the mindset necessary to achieve a goal: the mindset that all of the things in your life are a result of your decisions, good or bad. With a series of good decisions, you will be miles ahead of anything you could have ever dreamed possible.
My personal mantra: It gets easier. You have to do it every single day, but it does get easier
My training style is: Energetic
My why: I want to be the person that helped you believe success is a choice
What gives me my fighting spirit: I'm not going to live twice

I have worked out (running, lifting weights, elliptical, etc.) on and off for most of my life. I would get motivated to work out for a couple months at a time and then would become bored and lose interest – primarily because I wasn’t seeing any results; I would find any excuse not to workout. I’m 5’6, and typically weighed 155 up to 168 lbs at any given time. I come from an athletic, physically fit family, and I never thought my “body type,” could look like I wanted it to. I joined TITLE Boxing at 55 West about 10 months ago, and it has truly changed my life. After just a couple of classes with Mark and Oscar, I was hooked. They were motivating and inspiring – they made me want to give my all to every class. I made some small adjustments to my diet (more lean protein,...
I’ve heard the classes are intense; do I need to be in great shape to do the workouts?
It doesn’t matter if you haven’t worked out in a while or have never boxed before, you can finish the workout feeling great! You’ll see that everyone goes at their own pace, but believe us that once you’re here, you’ll be inspired to give it your very best!
I don’t want to get hit; is this a contact workout?
No—not ever! Each person in class has their own heavy bag to workout on, plus their own space to move around the bag. Trust us, you won’t even realize anyone else is in the class because you’ll be so focused on the workout! And, rest easy, we never allow sparring or fighting at TITLE Boxing Club.
What makes TITLE different than other fitness studios?
Boxing is a great workout, perhaps one of the most challenging of all sports, and we want to bring you the intensity of the training, minus the impact. We’ll teach you how to roll with the punches by pushing you further than you thought possible.
I’m new to boxing; will someone show me the basics?
You bet! All of our classes are taught by instructors who will show you the ropes from the beginning. We’ll help you wrap your hands and walk you through the basic fundamentals. Everyone in class is at a different level, so take a deep breath and go at your own pace!
Can I bring my children with me?
We do not offer childcare services at TITLE Boxing Club. However, children over the age of eight are welcome to work out with you here and join as a member! Ask us about our Family Membership options.
What do I need to bring to class? How early do I need to arrive?
Hand wraps are essential for your protection and mandatory for class. You can bring your own or buy them here. We’ll have gloves for you to borrow your first time, and you might want to bring a bottle of water and towel! Plan on arriving 20 minutes early so we can get you settled and wrap your hands.
I’ve never hit anything before. Will I hurt myself?
For a beginner, the most important thing is to learn the proper form. The good news is that we’ll teach you! As you progress, you’ll be able to throw several variations of punches from different positions and develop your own punching technique to fit your style. People are usually surprised at how much they love hitting the heavy bag!
