I’ve made so many friends through TITLE, we’ll go to dinner or brunch after class and just hang out…I actually text some of them almost every day.
A longtime member of the TITLE Fam, Ellen, was bitten by the boxing bug back in her college days when she found herself tired of the monotonous workouts she and her friends would do at the campus recreation center. In an attempt at stepping outside her comfort zone and finding a form of exercise that she would enjoy, she decided to check out the local TITLE Boxing Club in her college town. It was love at first punch! Now a little over 7 years later, Ellen is still hooked on making her health a priority with the TITLE Fam by her side.
When asked what has kept her coming back to the club all these years, she happily responded, “It sounds cheesy but it’s the people”. Now taking classes at our State Line location in Kansas City, Missouri, Ellen has found a tight-knit community of like-minded people that she considers some of her best friends. “I’ve made so many friends through TITLE, we’ll go to dinner or brunch after class and just hang out…I actually text some of them almost every day,” she told us. Besides the support and friendships she’s made with trainers and other members, Ellen also loves the stress relief she experiences from hitting the bag.
Like many other members, she has experienced the undeniable mental health benefits that come with punching away stress and anxiety in our judgment-free zone. As an engineer, the boxing lover works long hours and finds herself mentally drained by the end of a day. “I will have the longest day at work and then I get to zone out for 45 minutes at TITLE and just focus on my workout, it’s that and seeing the friendly faces I don’t associate with work that relieves stress for me,” she explained.
Over the course of the next few months, Ellen’s job will be taking her to Florida to work on a project. It is there that she will get acquainted with our Tampa TITLE Fam and continue her fight for a healthy mind, body, and soul. Her dedication to working on herself and staying consistent is truly an inspiration to us all! good luck in Tampa, Ellen!!
