DECEMBER MEMBERSHIP SPOTLIGHT: CHRISSY

Drive to the studio, park your car, and walk through the door…once you’re there all the nerves go away when you hear the music and feel the vibe.

TITLE Boxing Club Vinnin Square member, Chrissy, has grit and heart like no other. After suffering a major back injury in 2015, she embarked on a grueling journey of physical recovery that eventually led her to the TITLE Fam. She had passed the club on the way home from work several times before deciding to give boxing a shot. “I was so nervous, I tried to think of every excuse I could to not go but my boyfriend at the time, who is now my husband, wouldn’t let me back out,” Chrissy told us. Her fears of not being skilled enough to take a class were squashed upon feeling the “after-class high” that washed over her upon completing that first class.

Needless to say, she’s been hooked ever since! Her liking for the sport grew, as she started to notice amazing mental and physical benefits. Eventually, Chrissy decided to take her workouts to the next level and started taking private lessons, in preparation for her wedding. “When you have that training, it’s like a therapy session also,” she explained. Chrissy walked down the aisle 40 pounds lighter and with a confidence she hadn’t felt in years. “It was so great, I felt so confident and it was the first time since my injury, that I started to feel like myself again,” Chrissy mentioned. She invited her trainer to the wedding too!

Recovering from her injury took a toll on her, dealing with weight gain and chronic pain was extremely difficult at times. However, she found a community of people and a workout that changed her body and her mindset at TITLE Boxing Club Vinnin Square. All she had to do was push her fears aside and walk through the doors. The rest is history.

When asked what advice she would give to someone on the fence about getting this workout a shot, she replied, “Drive to the studio, park your car, and walk through the door…once you’re there all the nerves go away when you hear the music and feel the vibe.” The moral of the story, if you aren’t happy with any part of your life then change it by trying out something new.
